Self- hypnosis is a state that you have often been in, but did not recognise it as such. So, when you get self-hypnosis CDs or downloads you are just going to do something you have done before.
Driving to work is often done in a self-hypnotic state. You start off, and either spend the time thinking about some worry or issue at work, or at home, and don’t actually think about driving. For example, when did you last decide how much to turn the wheel, or when to start doing it to turn into your drive? You can’t remember because your conscious mind is not involved. The work is done by your unconscious mind. When you leave things to your unconscious mind you are in a state of hypnosis.
Self-hypnosis is a very powerful tool used by many top sportsmen including Tiger Woods – he is in a state of self-hypnosis most of the time he is on the golf course, and this is why he can hit so many good shots under pressure. He isn’t under pressure because of his self-hypnosis!
You can also get good results by listening to hypnosis recordings regularly and thus get the effects of hypnosis without the aid of a hypnotherapist. On the other hand, I know people who have stopped smoking after just one session with a hypnotherapist.
I really recommend you give it a try. It has worked for me, and can work for you.
Needless to say, there is no point in trying hypnosis to lose weight if in your heart of hearts, you really don’t want to. But if you do want to, you will be able to send messages to your unconscious mind so that it not tell you that you feel hungry or need food when you don’t.
